PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image failures such as a fog and ground soil by increasing a biting amount of a brush-like electrifying member into an image carrier together with the number of printed sheets. SOLUTION: In a controller 9, the biting of the brush-like electrifying member 2 into an image carrier 1 is 1.0 mm. Also, in the controller 9, a difference between the long shaft and short shaft of a cam that controls the biting of the brush-like electrifying member 2 into the image carrier 1 is 0.4 mm. The rotation of the cam can alter the biting of the brush-like electrifying member 2 into the image carrier 1. Therefore, by increasing the amount of the intrusion of the brush-like electrifying member 2 into the image carrier 1 with the number of printed sheets, the contact area of the image carrier 1 and brush-like electrifying member 2 is increased and resistance between the image carrier 1 and the brush-like electrifying member 2 is decreased. Also, an increase in current flowing between the image carrier 1 and the brush-like electrifying member 2 can prevent image failures. |
