PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel box installing device capable of smoothly and exactly installing a channel box to a fuel assembly and improving work efficiency and reliability. SOLUTION: A channel box installing device 1 provided with a receiver stage 2 for pushing in a channel box covering a fuel assembly, a hook 3 supporting an upper tie-plate, and a drive mechanism for extending the distance between the receiver stage 2 and the hook 3 is constituted so that the a loading shaft working on the hook 3 and the center axis of the drive mechanism coincide during channel box installation.
