PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically change the setting of brightness for display according to use environment. SOLUTION: This portable information terminal is arranged so as to be automatically changed in setting of brightness for display according to use environment by changing the brightness of an LCD part 3 by a CPU part 1 according to a parameter of a ROM part 6 corresponding to a voltage value from a sensor 5. Thus, since a display means is changed in brightness by a brightness changing means according to a parameter of a storage means corresponding to a voltage value from a photo-detector, it is possible to automatically change the setting of brightness for display according to use environment.
