PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air valve capable of preventing the occurrence of an air hammer phenomenon due to external air mixing by dedicating the valve exhaust function and eliminating intake function. SOLUTION: A movable valve operating mechanism 9 which is opened and closed so as to allow exhaust action from a duct 1 through an opening 3 on the upper part and prevent intake action of external air from the opening 3 toward the piping path 1 during normal times, when the exhaust opening 3 is in an opened state is incorporated and constituted inside a valve casing 4, between a float valve element 6 and a connecting part 2 to the piping path 1. For example, a rockingly opening and closing type movable valve 8 is applied as the movable valve operating mechanism 9.
