PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sharpness when a beam is written in a reflection type liquid crystal panel through an optical fiber plate. SOLUTION: A write-in beam according to a video signal outputted from a CRT 1 is written in the reflection type liquid crystal panel 3 through the optical fiber plate (FOP) 2. When the video signal is inputted to the CRT 1, undershoot is added to the rise part and the fall part of the write-in beam by a correction circuit 10. Thus, since dullness of a waveform due to through the FOP 2 is prevented, the sharpness is improved.
