PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the humid state of an electrolyte film within an appropriate range by accurately determining the humid state of the electrolyte film in a solid polymer type fuel cell. SOLUTION: When a current at detected by an ammeter 42 and supplied from a fuel cell 30, is at a predetermined value, a humid state of an electrolyte film of the fuel cell 30 is determined based on a differential value of a resistance of the fuel cell 30 to be detected by a resistance detector 48. A conductive electrode or separator and a proton-conductive electrolyte film are laminated in the fuel cell 30. Although the conductivity of the electrode or separator is never influenced by the humid state, the proton-conductivity of the electrolyte film is greatly changed by the humid state. Consequently, a change rate (the differential value) of the resistance of the fuel cell 30 directly represents a change rate of the proton-conductivity of the electrolyte film. As a result, it is possible to accurately determine the humid state of the electrolyte film. |
