<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emission element having satisfactory electron emission characteristics, an electron source having highly uniform electron emitting characteristics, an image forming device having satisfactory image quality, and a manufacturing method for them. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method for an electron emission element has a process for forming a pair of electron elements 2, 3 on a base body 1, a process for giving a solution of a metal composite to the element electrodes 2, 3 on the base body 1 and both end parts between the element electrodes in their width direction, a process for forming the thin film of an under coating layer 6 by thermally decomposing the given solution, a process for giving a solution of a metal composition different from the metal composite for forming the under coating layer to the element electrode 2, 3 on the base body 1 and the center part between the element electrodes 2, 3, a process for forming a conductive film 4 by thermally decomposing the give solution, and a forming process for forming an electron emitting part 5 on the conductive film 4 by energizing the space between element electrodes 2, 3.</p> |
