PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily assemble and to attach a large number of ports for entering and outgoing light. SOLUTION: This circulator is equipped with a first separating and mixing means 1 with respect to the propagation direction of light, second separating and mixing means 2 having almost perpendicular separation direction of polarized light to the first separating and mixing means 1, first polarization plane rotator 3 which is independent from the propagation direction of light, second polarization plane rotator 4 which depends on the propagation direction of light, third separating and mixing means 5, 6 divided into two parts with respect to the propagation direction of light, third polarization plane rotator 7 which depends on the propagation direction of light, fourth polarization plane rotator 8 which does not depend on the propagation direction of light, fourth separating and mixing means 9 having almost the same separation direction of polarized light as the second separating and mixing means 2, and fifth separating and mixing means 10 showing an almost the same separation direction of polarized light as the first separating and mixing means 1. |
