PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonlinear filter capable of freely changing filter characteristics by performing learning corresponding to a filter purpose. SOLUTION: The signals of 2N+1 are extracted from input signals xk, they are respectively substituted to the respective variables of nonlinear functions f (ω1,ω2,..., (ω2N+1) held in a nonlinear function part 16 and output signals zk, are obtained. For the nonlinear functions, input/output relation is changed by plural parameters Wi. In the meantime, teacher signals tk corresponding to the output signals zk are extracted from a teacher signal string, and the parameters Wi are updated by using a steepest lowering method or the like so as to reduce a difference between the teacher signals tk and the output signals zk, in a nonlinear function updating part 22.
