PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer ceramic electronic component, in which deterioration of insulation resistance in high humidity is small and reliability is superior. SOLUTION: Electrode paste turning to inner electrode layers 2 are formed in desired inner electrode layer patterns on a green sheet which turns into ceramic layers 1, baking is performed after laminating the inner electrode layers, and glass layers 3 are formed on interfaces of the ceramic layers 1 and the inner electrode layers 2. After that, an external electrode 4 is formed on the exposed end surfaces of the inner electrode layers 2. Thereby the deterioration of insulation resistance at a high temperature and a high humidity can be restrained, and a multilayer ceramic electronic component whose reliability is improved can be obtained.
