PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment for simplifying the input operation of a subscriber's name at the time of registering an abbreviated number. SOLUTION: This communication equipment is provided with a transmitting and receiving part 9, an input part 13, a storage part 5a, and a control part 2. When a specific number and a subscriber's number are inputted to the input part 13, the control part 2 controls the transmission of the both numbers to a switchboard and the reception of subscriber's number and name information from the switchboard, and searches a subscriber's name corresponding to the subscriber's number from the information, and allows the storage part 5a to store the subscriber's number and the subscriber's name.
