PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming device where an image can be formed without impairing discriminability of a character or a picture pattern even when a toner save mode is selected. SOLUTION: In this digital image forming device provided with an electrostatic latent image carrier 5-2, an electrifying device 5-3 electrifying the surface of the electrostatic latent image carrier, an optical writing system 5-1 forming an electrostatic latent image by exposing an electrostatic latent image carrier with a laser beam according to image signals and a developing device 5-4 visualizing the latent image on the electrostatic latent image carrier by developing it with toner inside developer, a control system of the device main body is provided with the toner save mode to keep down consumption of toner. This toner save mode is provided to be selectable by a user and the device is constituted so that when the toner save mode is selected, the amount of adhered toner is decreased by lowering developing potential more than as usual. |
