PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce collector resistance without decreasing the effective area of photoelectrochemical reaction and to enhance output power density by disposing a collector electrode at least ? one of the interior and surface of a photoelectric conversion active material deposited on a conductive substrate. SOLUTION: This photoelectric conversion element, an anatase film as a photoelectric conversion active material 3 is deposited on a transparent electrode film 1 of a conductive substrate 7. On the surface, a linear collector electrode 4 is disposed to form a photoelectrode 10. In a wet-type solar battery built in this photoelectrode 10, output current density shows substantially greater values. This is because the collector electrode 4 disposed on the photoelectric conversion active material 3 can efficiently collect conductive electrons of semiconductor particles. The collector electrode 4 is disposed on the surface of the photoelectric conversion active material 3. The surface is a backside to an incident light so that the collector electrode 4 does not shield the incident light and the reaction area where photoelectrochemical reaction is generated is not reduced. |
