PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute an accurate route guidance for a drive at a user's request by allowing a system based upon a network to transmit a desired guidance to the pager of a user by accessing a map database. SOLUTION: A user who requires a road guidance makes a voice call to a paging center 100 by, for example, a cellular telephone 24 through a cellular network 26. The user informs a person in charge of a desired starting point and a final destination for the road guidance and further the identification information of the radio paging service 20 or PCS digital telephone service of the user and the ID of its user pager 22. Then the person in charge inputs the information to a mapping server 38 as a system of the Internet to generate a road guidance in text form. The road guidance is automatically transmitted to a paging server 30 as a gateway of the network and transmitted to the paging system 28 of the user.
