WAVEGUIDE/TRANSMISSION LINE CONVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate miniaturization and high volume production while high power conversion efficiency is maintained. SOLUTION: A shorting metal layer 11 is formed on one face of a dielectric substrate 4 and the shorting metal layer 11 is provided with a slip for arranging a strip line 3. The shorting metal layer 11 and the strip line 3 are arranged on the same face of the dielectric substrate 4 by leaving a prescribed interval. A ground metal layer 5 is made in a form similar to the cross section form of an opening in a waveguide 2. The potentials of the shorting metal layer 11, the ground metal layer 5 and the waveguide 2 are kept to be the same by metals buried in through holes 8 installed around the dielectric substrate 4. A matching element 6 is installed on the face where the ground metal layer 5 of the dielectric substrate 4 is formed. An almost whole waveguide/ transmission line converter 120 except for the waveguide 2 can be constituted on the substrate that is the same as a high frequency circuit and a planar antenna.
