摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double speed conversion method and a circuit for image signals of high picture quality and high image resolution. SOLUTION: A still interpolation generation part 4 produces an interpolation signal SIP suitable to a still image via the inter-field processing. A VT interpolation generation part 5 produces an interpolation signal VTIP suitable to a moving image via the vertical/time filter processing. An MC interpolation generation part 6 produces an interpolation signal MCIP suitable to a slow motion or the up - down panning motions via the GST(general sampling theory) processing using a motion vector PV. A setting part 7 produces a multiplex control signal CT according to the value of the vector PV and an estimated error MVE. A selection part 8 produces a signal IP of an interpolation scanning line via the load addition processing of a mixing ratio that is set by the signal CT. A double speed part 10 outputs a signal S3 that undergone time delay adjustment at a delay part 9 and also a progressive scan image signal S4 via the 1/2 compression of time base of the signal IP and the multiple processing of time series.
