PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distinguish between reproducing or recording and stopping states by performing recording or reproduction making a recording and reproducing position set by a recording and reproducing position setting means in a specified AV file as a start point. SOLUTION: When a search command is received by a video voice data recording and reproducing device 10, a HDD control circuit sets a recording start position set in a specified AV file as a recording position of an specified associated input plug. A controller 20 issues an associated input plug and a recording command specifying a repeating recording mode, when a recording command is received by the video voice data recording and reproducing device 10, the HDD control circuit starts over-write-recording of AV data inputted from a specified associated input plug from a recording start position of the AV file set in a specified associated output plug. As reproduction position information and record position information under reproduction by standard speed in repeating recording are successively increased, distinction between recording or reproduction and stop is made easy.
