PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of such a stain which adversely affects image quality even if there is elution of a large amount of silver by disposing a metallic plate in a position where the metallic plate is immersed into a developer in a developing tank made of a synthetic resin. SOLUTION: A processing liquid processing section has the developing tank 14 where the developer is stored, a fixing tank where a fixer is stored and a washing tank where washing water is stored. The respective processing tanks are integrally molded of synthetic resins, such as PPE. A box-like object (stainless steel plate 14S) assembled of stainless steel plates is disposed in such a manner that the metallic (stainless steel) plate is arranged along inside walls (inclusive of a bottom plate part) in the developing tank 14. When an exposed X-ray film is transported while the X-ray film is immersed in the developer stored in the developing tank 14, the X-ray film is developed. The silver eluted as silver ions in the developer and reduced by a developing agent deposits on the stainless steel plate 14S and the concentration of the silver ions eluted in the developer can be lowered.
