PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the drop of capacity at multiroom operation and the drop of blowout temperature and also to prevent the abnormal rise of high pressure, in heating operation at the time of outside air temperature being high. SOLUTION: This air conditioner detects the input current of an inverter 21 to drive a compressor 1 by means of a current sensor 23. An input current upper limit value is computed by an input current upper limit value computer 22a, based on the outside frequency of the inverter 21 and the upper limit value of high pressure of a refrigerant circuit. Next, the difference between the input current upper limit value computed by the input current upper limit value computer 22a and the input current of the inverter 21 detected by a current sensor 23 is computed by means of a current difference computer 22b. Then, a frequency change value upper limit value is calculated by a frequency change width upper limit value computer 22c, based on the difference between the input current upper limit value and the input current computed by the current difference computer 22b, and the output frequency of the inverter 21 is controlled by an inverter controller, with a frequency change width smaller than the computed frequency change width upper limit value. |
