PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas sensor by which the concentration of carbon monoxide can be detected precisely even when a contaminant such as a sulfur-based compound or the like exists in a gas to be detected. SOLUTION: In this gas sensor, a solid electrolyte 1, a first electrode 2a, a second electrode 2b, a reference electrode 2c, a catalyst 3, a first-potential- difference detecting means 8a, a second-potential-difference detecting means 8b and a coupling means 10 are provided. Then, on the basis of the relative relationship between a first potential difference between the first electrode and the reference electrode and a second potential difference between the second electrode and the reference electrode, the concentration of carbon monoxide in a gas to be detected is detected. As a result, it is possible to obtain the gas sensor whose durability is high. |
