PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record the images even when a deck has a failure or in reproduction mode. SOLUTION: When the video signals recorded on one of the hard disks 5 and 6 are transmitted to an external video recording device 30 to perform recording and reproducing of images, the video signals converted into the digital signals by an A/D converter 3 or 4 and supplied from a camera 20 are recorded on the other disk. Meanwhile, a hard disk control/switch control part 10 controls the operations of an analog switch 2, the image recording start and stop operations of the device 30, the recording operations of disks 5 and 6 and the selecting operations of an analog switch 9 respectively.
