摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic flaw detection apparatus for elevator ropes which can male a detecting part compact and simple in structure. SOLUTION: A detecting part 1 has magnetic bodies 1a and 1b spaced from each other to hold a rope 2 therebetween, a magnet 1c interposed between the magnetic bodies 1a and 1b and magnetic flux detecting elements 1d and 1e set to faces of the magnetic bodies 1a and 1b opposite to the rope 2 for detecting a main magnetic flux of a magnetic circuit. The magnetic circuit is formed in the order from an N pole of the magnet 1c, one magnetic body 1a, one magnetic flux detecting element 1d, the rope 2, the other magnetic flux-detecting element 1e, the other magnetic body 1b and an S pole of the magnet 1c. A strand break of the rope 2 is decided on the basis of the main magnetic flux detected by the magnetic flux detecting elements 1d and 1e. A workability is rendered superior and manufacture costs can be reduced.
