PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extinguish a lighting system when unnecessary, in an electronic apparatus having a display device with lighting system, to save the power. SOLUTION: When the mode is changed from waiting mode to operation mode by the receipt of a signal S3 outputted from an external input means 14, a lighting system is turned ON, so that a user can easily confirm the change of a displayed content. When the operation mode or mode change is ended and transferred to the waiting mode, the lighting system 11 is turned OFF, thereby making the user easily recognize the waiting state or the end of the operation, and also realizing the power saving.
