<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce the dispersion of the diameters of plural light spots in multibeam scanning. SOLUTION: This scanner is constituted so that plural beams from a light source 1 constituted by monolithically arraying plural light emitting parts which can be independently modulated as an array are guided to a surface to be scanned 7 by common optical systems 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, and condensed as plural light spots separated in a subscanning direction so as to simultaneously scan plural lines. In such a case, the respective light emitting parts of the light source 1 are arranged to be positionally deviated in the optical axis direction of a common coupling lens 2 coupling the respective beams from plural light emitting parts with the succeeding optical systems with respect to the paraxial focal position of the lens 2, and the dispersion of the diameters of plural light spots on the surface 7 is reduced by adjusting the deviation amount.</p> |
