PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the light unevenness on an irradiating surface in a luminaire of a type called a wall washer for releasing light much to a wall surface side. SOLUTION: This luminaire is of a type called a wall washer for releasing light much to a wall surface side, and it is mainly composed of an equipment body 10, a ballast 1, a light source 6, a parabolic reflecting plate 2, and a light transmissive plate 4. The light source (lamp) 6 is arranged to that it is partially present on the focus of the reflecting plate 2 and on the broken line in Fig. 1 showing the direction to be irradiated, and its center point 7 never overlaps the focus 8 of the reflecting plate 2.
