PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-board navigation device capable of dynamically changing the amount of graphics according to the speed of one's own car and the speed of scroll and securing the display of routes and roads in the vicinity of one's own vehicle at the minimum. SOLUTION: This navigation device is provided with an operating means 10 such as a remote control, and a data amount computing means 21 for increasing and reducing the amount of graphics according to the amount of data. The device is constituted of a control means 20 to perform control so as to change the amount of graphic processing dynamically, a location computing means 30 to compute a location by receiving locational information from GPS satellites, etc., a display data amount selecting means 40 held in a table system, a display means 50 to perform display according to the amount of data to display determined by the control means 20, and a map information storage means 60 to store map data in CD-ROM, etc. The data amount computing means 21 dynamically increases or reduces roads and names to be displayed according to whether the amount of data exceeds an amount of data delimited by a threshold value. |
