The invention concerns a hay harvesting machine comprising a mount frame (1) with several swathing rotors (2, 3), said mount frame comprising a traction beam (12) and a link beam (13) articulated with respect to said traction beam, at least the rotor (3) of the link beam (13) which is located at the rear being equipped with a swathing deflector (35). Said machine comprises a retractable stop element (49) for moving the link beam (13) about its hinge pin (4), means (34) to move the deflector (35) substantially with respect to the corresponding rotor (3) and a device controlling (51) the stop element (49) which is actuated by the means (34) moving the deflector (35). The stop element (49) prevents the link beam (13) and the corresponding rotor (3) from being transposed from a first operative position into a second position, as long as the deflector (35) can reach the rotor (2) preceding it. When the deflector (35) is moved into a position wherein it can no longer reach the rotor, the stop (49) is retracted and the transposition is possible.
