PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a diameter size of a slot with a large number of grooves to attain high densification and diameter reduction for a tape-slot type optical cable, in the tape-slot type optical cable storing a layered body of optical fiber coated fibers in the grooves of the slot engraved with the plural spiral grooves in its circumferential face. SOLUTION: In this optical cable, each groove 2 engraved in a circumferential face of a slot 1 has a U-shaped cross-section, a width A of the groove 2 is larger by 0.2-0.8 mm than a width of a layered body 10 comprising optical fiber tape coated fibers stored therein, a depth of B of the groove 2 is deeper by 0.4-1.2 mm than a thickness of the layered body 10, and R>=A/2 is satisfied where R is a radius of curvature of a groove bottom.
