PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a fluid detecting tube for electromagnetic flow meters, superior in heat shock, bending strength, corrosion resistance and adhesion whereby an electrode can be surely assembled. SOLUTION: A high purity alumina powder is compression-molded into a compact, the compact is machined by a lathe or drill into a rough structure of detecting tube 30, the compact is drilled to form an electrode insert hole 31, the tube 30 is provisionally sintered at desired temp. of 600-1400 deg.C, its inner surface and ends are polished, a rod-like Pt electrode 32 is inserted in the hole 31, it is sintered at a regular backing temp. of 1400-1700 deg.C with the electrode 32 inserted in the hole 31, thereby narrowing the hole 31 of the tube 30 to surely adhere the outside of the electrode 32 to the inner wall of the hole 31, thus surely holding it, and a final polishing follows to finish the tube 30.
