The machine e.g. frame saw (1) has tool parcels (2) of parallel long cutting tools e.g. saw blades (4). Bars (9) along the ends of the tools at right angles to the their direction, hold the tools for cutting width adjustment. A profile (15) is positioned at synchronously adjustable distance parallel to the bars. Two struts (12,13) are hinged to each tool, with the exception of the two outer tools in a parcel, which have only one hinged strut. The struts extend from the tools to the profiles, and the struts of neighboring tools are hinged to each other and are moveably guided in the profiles.
