The device consists of several measuring rollers (2) with a common center line. Individual rollers contact the material flow along a contact line, which is at right angles to the press direction. The outer curved surface of the rollers is zig-zag-shaped, and the individual teeth (6) project into the material flow. The rollers have apertures on a part circle smaller than its outer diameter, and sensors (3) positioned above the part circle, transmit measuring signals and prevent movement of the rollers in axial direction. The sensor signals are supplied to an electronic evaluator.
