The ship with hollow spaces (11, 13) in the vicinity of its side walls (7, 8) and bottom is characterized by the fact that at least a part of these hollow spaces is filled with a hardenable foam material. Also claimed is a method for producing such a ship. Hardenable foam material is introduced into the spaces (11, 13), where after hardening it forms a stable bond with the walls of these spaces.
