The invention relates to a method for verifying the presence of components, in addition to the presence of elements and modules suitable for carrying out said method. In order to make methods available, with which the existence of a known component can be verified, the invention provides a method for verifying at least the presence of components that are in concealed, inaccessible locations and/or locations that cannot be seen. The components are provided with at least one identification element, which as a result of being activated without contact, produces a reaction signal that can be detected without contact.
