The method involves first punching out an area of sheet (1) whose outer contour corresponding to the end (11) of a punch (8) complementary to the aperture (13) in a template (7); clamping the sheet between the template and punch so that the stamped out region is positioned in the template aperture; and finally punching through the stamped area using the punch and measuring the applied force. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for measuring stamping forces on metal sheet.
