摘要 Organisms in the water are destroyed by ultraviolet radiation and the water is cleared of harmful chemicals by oxidation with ozone. Preferred Features: Pump (25) passes water into passage B around a quartz-glass sleeve (15) containing ultraviolet radiation sources (18). As the water passes through ejector (19) and tapered outlet (20) chamber A is evacuated, causing air to be drawn in through filter (9) and tube (17). This air not only cools the elements (18) but also yields ozone due to the UV interaction. This ozone-enriched air passes into chamber D where it is mixed with the finely divided water as this passes over atomizers (21). After an initial preparation time the atomizers are raised to close the ejectors and water passes into passage (C) from where it is passed continuously through filter (23) and tap (24). Some different types of UV elements are proposed. The initial preparation time is about 25 minutes. A floating unit, suitable for swimming pools or water tanks, is described.
