The head lamp angle setting device (1) adjusts the angle of the head lamp beam in dependence on the inclination of the automobile longitudinal axis relative to the road surface, via a beam angle correction device (7) supplied with a control signal from an electronic control device (6). This receives electrical signals (4,5) from a pair of position sensors (2,3) attached to the automobile at spaced points relative to the automobile longitudinal axis and provides a control signal obtained from the difference between the position sensor signals.
