The central locking has a rotary cylinder lock and an axially displaceable central locking rod (16) guided at one end in a wall fitment (20) which has a U-shaped open mouth which extends through the axial displacement path of the rod. The wall fitment is positioned on the side wall of the cabinet so that the end of the central locking rod when all drawers are closed, is in front of the mouth and is pushed through the mouth when the drawer is drawn out. The free end of the locking bolt (13) of the rotary cylinder lock in the closed position of same is swivelled into the mouth of the wall fitment to act as a stop to prevent the end of the central locking rod from passing through the mouth.
