The padlock has a yoke locking in a cross bar which has a holding part (16) which is mounted between the two ends of the yoke and is movable by the yoke in the longitudinal direction of the locking rod (8). The holding part is pretensioned by a spring (17) against a trigger (31) which projects into one of the recesses (3) in the cross bar (2). The spring and holding part are set in a spring housing (15) connected with keyed engagement to an end member (13) having one of the recesses.
