A plate type heat exchanger capable of exchanging heat simultaneously between two sets of fluids having different temperatures, comprising a heat exchange element (2) in which an enclosed space inside two plates opposed to each other is used as a first fluid path and a fluid flowing through the outer surface of these plates with the plate surfaces used as heat transfer surfaces is used as a second fluid; and a heat exchange element (2') in which an enclosed space inside two plates opposed to each other is used as a third fluid path and a fluid flowing through on the outer surface of these plates with the plate surfaces used as heat transfer surfaces is used as a fourth fluid, wherein the plurality of the heat exchange elements (2) and (2') are arranged alternately at specified intervals so that the plate surfaces are opposed to each other, and communication tubes communicating the inside spaces of the heat exchange elements (2) to the inside spaces of the heat exchange elements (2'), respectively, are formed integrally with each of the elements on the plate surfaces of the heat exchange elements (2) and (2').
