The testing device uses a simulator (11.1) with inputs (12.1-12.8) connected to fire detectors and respective outputs coupled to an elevator fire control (11) provided with a microprocessor (13), a monitor (17) for displaying the condition of the elevator fire control and a memory (18) for holding the received fire alarms and the elevator commands. The simulator is operated manually or via a stored program for simulation of at least one fire alarm signal.
