The plate-shaped foot rest (3) is inclined to the horizontal at a user friendly angle and is set behind the wheel house (1) with its bearing (5) arranged so that in the event of deformation or displacement of the wheel house caused by front crash forces there are no changes to the angle which would cause injury.
