<p>Synthetic turf comprises ribbons 7 projecting through a backing 11,13 in parallel rows and a coating is applied in strips to the rear of the backing along the rows but leaving strips 43 uncoated for drainage. Particulate material which may comprise a mixture of hard material such as sand and resilient material such as cryogenically ground rubber may be deposited on the backing between the ribbons. Dimensional relationships between the length of ribbons, spacing of rows and depth of particulate layer are specified.</p> |
