PURPOSE: A computer network system having a digital map and method for providing advertising information thereof is provided to output only advertisements in fields in which an user is interested by providing advertising information on a digital map via a network. CONSTITUTION: A computer network system includes a server(10,60), e.g., a computer system of a web site administrator providing digital map information and the corresponding advertising information and a plurality of clients(30,80,90) connecting to the server(10,60) via a network. The client(30,80,90) has a computer system of an user or geographic information and/or advertising information provider. The server(10,60) has a web server(2,62) for controlling the access to a digital map and advertising information, a GIS server engine(6,64), and a storage(20). Thus, the server(10,60) provides digital map information to the client(30,80,90) and graphic information, property information, or banner advertising information on a particular portion on the digital map to the client(30,80,90). In addition, the server(10,60) is connected to a web resource information linked by a hyperlink information by means of the client's selection of displayed graphic information, property information or banner information. |
