摘要 PURPOSE: A catalyst for use in olefin polymerization comprising liquid titanium compound chelated by amidinate based ligand is provided. A method for polymerization of olefins having narrow molecular weight distribution, copolymer composition distribution and good particle shape is also provided. CONSTITUTION: A liquid chelate catalyst for use in olefin polymerization according to the present invention is prepared by reacting amidinate based chelate ligand having the formula R-N=C=A(wherein A is oxygen or amino group having the formula -NR' and R and R' are alkyl groups) with the compound having the formula Mg£Al(OR3)R'|2(wherein R and R' are alkyl groups) to obtain the chelate ligand-containing compound and then reacting the obtained compound with titanium halide compound. A method for polymerization of olefins according to the present invention is characterized in that the polymerization is carried out using the catalyst according to the present invention and organic metal aluminium compound as a co-catalyst.
