PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the thickness of an interfacial alloy layer by an aluminum coating method for a steel member, where a step of immersing the steel member into an aluminum-based liquid bath is included. SOLUTION: In the aluminum coating method for a steel member including a step of immersing the steel member into an aluminum-based liquid bath, the composition and average temperature of the liquid bath and the immersion temperature of the steel member into the bath are adjusted so that the local temperature and local composition of the liquid bath being in equilibrium with a solidθ-phase and having a composition approximately equal to the chemical formula FeAl3 can be obtained in the immersion zone of the steel member. Even if the immersion temperature is higher than the conventional temperature, an alloy layer formed in the interface with the steel can be obtained in the form of a film thinner than those obtained by the conventional process. The resultant film has excellent working resistance and corrosion resistance. |
