PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of a narrow width metal strip, that the wavy metal strip caused at the initial stage of producing is prevented from being generated and the continuous metal strip can efficiently be produced. SOLUTION: When the metal strip having <=1 mm width is produced by spouting molten metal from a nozzle hole and rapidly cooling and solidifying with a shifted cooling base plate, this production is executed under the condition satisfying the relational formula (T-Tm)S>0.8 among the temp. T ( deg.C) of the molten metal at the producing time, the m.p. Tm ( deg.C) of the used metal and the cross sectional area S (mm2) of the produced metal strip.
