PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for imparting antibacterial and mildew resistant property, capable of imparting excellent antibacterial and mildew resistant performance having durability to laundering and to provide antibacterial and mildew resistant textile products excellent in the same characteristics by solving the problem of the deterioration of fastness due to yellowing and/or discoloration in the case of textile products processed with an antibacterial and mildewproofing agent. SOLUTION: When subjecting textile products to antibacterial and mildew resistant property-imparting processing, an antibacterial and mildewproofing agent is made to adhere to the textile products at a room temperature to 110 deg.C and then is dried at 80-160 deg.C or is treated with high temperature and pressure steam at 100-180 deg.C, followed by being washed for the removal of the unfixed antibacterial and mildewproofing agent and then by being dried at 80-210 deg.C.
