PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify manufacturing processes and reduce manufacturing cost by installing a cover firmly to a base plate. SOLUTION: In this air bag device, a base plate with a folded air bag installed is covered with a cover 12, and a side wall portion 42 is fit into the outer periphery of the base plate. Then a generally ring-shaped belt 18 is pressed in to be engaged with the outer periphery of the side wall portion 42. At the outer periphery of the side wall portion 42, a projection 47 is formed along the pressing direction of the belt 18. The projection 47 is positioned to an inner side engagement hole 46 to be engaged with the base plate. Thereby resistance when pressing into the belt 18 can be restricted and deformation toward the outer periphery of the side wall portion 42 can also be restricted. |
