PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medicine capable of accomplishing the maintenance and improving effect of QOL(quality of life) such as an activity, a physical state, a mental and psychological state, a social activity of a cancer patient. SOLUTION: This oral QOL-improving agent contains a cyclic and chain mixed poly L-lactic acid having 3-19 degree of condensation as a fraction obtained by performing a condensation and dehydration of L-lactic acid under an inert atmosphere, subjecting an ethanol and methanol dissolvable fraction of the obtained reaction liquid to a reverse phase column chromatography, eluting the adsorbed materials with 20-50 wt.% aqueous acetonitrile solution at pH 2-3, and then eluting them with 90 wt.% aqueous acetonitrile at pH 2-3.
