PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording device which has faster printing speed than a conventional device and which has no possibility of forming a smudge caused by rubbing of undried ink with a conveying roller even when using ink of slow drying speed. SOLUTION: A printing control device 12 controls printing with correcting dots which compose a character to be thinned according to a level of printing quality in the case of a character of 16 points or more. A roller member which composes each of a first conveying roller pair 14 and a second conveying roller pair 16 for sending a sheet of dried recording paper 32 outwards is provided in a region where thermal energy density is 80% or more.
